We are in the process of implementing the York Print Plus service in staff offices across the University.
Staff are also welcome to use devices in public areas (the Library buildings and IT classrooms and study areas) across campus. Please see our Locations page for a list of device locations and features.
We are now working with departments to introduce the service by building or department, in consultation with staff occupying the space. This process began in January 2012, and we expect the roll out to be completed in early 2014.
York Print Plus implementation
The process for implementing York Print Plus is known as balanced deployment. The following document explains this process, and what you can expect during the initial audit, implementation and review.
The Q&As section should answer many of the questions you may have about the York Print Plus implementation:
Requests for printers
As the York Print Plus implementation is imminent, we are encouraging people not to purchase any new stand-alone printers.
If you urgently need to replace a business critical machine and you do not have access to a nearby multi-functional device, please get in touch with IT Support Office who can discuss your needs.
Using York Print Plus
Instructions will be displayed next to each MFD on how to print, photocopy and scan-to-email.
Each office location will have a super user to advise on basic functions. Their contact details will be displayed above the MFD.
You will also need to add the print queue to your computer: see the guides below.
Staff may also use the devices located in public areas. See the student pages for more information:
When you print, your work will automatically print in black and white and duplex. You'll need to change your settings to select single sided or colour - see the Guides section for help.
