Norwegian Study Centre

Welcome to the Norwegian Study Centre (NSC), York

Well known and loved by generations of Norwegian students, the NSC is both a part of the University of York and an extension of the Norwegian higher education system, established and core funded by the Norwegian government. Since the early 1980s, it has offered students, teachers and others not only high-quality teaching, but also an opportunity to immerse themselves in the language(s) and culture(s) of Britain.

Please explore our webpages to learn more about what we have to offer: primarily 1-2 week short courses arranged by your Norwegian institution, and for-credit studies over one or two semesters at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. If you have questions or would like to know more about us, just contact us: hopefully, we can help you.

See you in York soon!

Jena Habegger-Conti

Director of the NSC

What our students say

"I really enjoyed the variety of topics in the different courses. I have learned many new interesting things this week, and have new ideas to use in the classroom later. The teachers engagement and enthusiasm also contributed to making it interesting."
