I am a PhD candidate under the supervision of Professor Gabriele Griffin. I entered the PhD programme in Women’s Studies at the University of York in October 2010. My research is titled Reader Narratives and Femininity in Contemporary Women’s Magazines in the UK and Thailand: A Comparative Study.

The primary goal of my study aims to analyze and compare the construction of femininity in women’s real-life narratives in contemporary women’s magazines in the UK and Thailand. It seeks to provide some insights into the social construction of a gendered self-identity, the prevailing gender norms and cultural models of femininity in two different contexts by analysing women’s personal narratives in selected women’s magazines.
