In 2002 after a short stint at the University of Wroclaw studying Psychology I went back to Denmark just to move to Botswana 6 months later to work on an HIV/AIDS project. In 2004 I moved to Yemen to teach English where I met my husband and moved to the UK.
I earned a BA (Hons) in International Studies in 2009 with the Open University. I completed my MA in Women's Studies here at the Centre in 2011. Partly inspired by my stepdaughter my MA focuses on challenging the negative perceptions and portrayals of stepmothers in the West. I will continue with this research for my PhD.
