I am 1st year PhD student in CWS. I have done M.A and M.Phil (Sociology). I have worked on women's empowerment during M.Phil studies. My research interests are women, the girl child, and gender discrimination. I am again going to explore issue of women's empowerment in my area i.e Sindh province. The topic for my PhD research is "Strategies to Enhance Power Positions within Households". My study would explore how housewives maintain power within households without having bargaining power. Since no work has been done on this topic so far, I am quite hopeful to generate useful data on women's empowerment in Pakistan.
