This research is focused on the views and experiences of residents within innovative forms of affordable high density housing in the UK. The specific research objectives are:
The research involves a questionnaire survey, focus groups and diary interviews with residents in eight exemplar developments of new affordable high density housing across the UK. The study directly informs current policy development in the provision of affordable and higher-density housing, particularly with regards to the impact of housing design and the management of social cohesion and anti-social behaviour in higher density developments. These issues are currently core concerns within housing policy in the UK nations. |
