Edit is a first year PhD candidate at CHE, affiliated to the Health Policy Team.

She obtained a Master's Degree at the Foreign Trade College, University of Economics, in Budapest, Hungary, and a M.A. with a concentration in International Economics and Law at the School of Advanced International Studies, the Johns Hopkins University, Washington DC.

Most recently, she has worked with the World Bank as consultant at the Health, Nutrition, and Population Hub Unit, the Europe and Central Asia Region's health sector team, and the Africa Region's Technical Unit on sustainable health care financing. Her work covered regional reviews of resource allocation and purchasing, case studies on private voluntary and mandatory health insurance, and analytical work on the role of government-run mandatory health insurance in low-income context.

Edit is under the supervision of Prof. Peter C. Smith researching on sustainable health care financing, developing econometric and simulation models, designed to measure the impact of (micro)-insurance on financial protection and the utility and feasibility of re-insurance. Her research interest includes the empirical analysis of fiscal space, particularly measuring the fiscal impact of these mechanisms to maximize the return on public spending. Her thesis will be building on the findings of household data sets, from countries at low- and upper-middle income levels, to develop the micro-econometric and related insurance simulation models.
