The IEE develops and evaluates programmes and practices for primary and secondary schools, focusing in particular on literacy, numeracy, science, early childhood approaches, and programmes for gifted and talented pupils.
Our research work is of the highest quality, often randomised controlled trials, and we evaluate education programmes and practices developed by ourselves and by others. Our findings can provide reliable guidance for policy and practice.

The IEE conducts systematic reviews of educational programmes and practices. These reviews provide an objective summary of all relevant research, and help educators, policy makers, and researchers make intelligent use of available evidence.
