Profile

Biography

Caroline’s research interests lie in late seventeenth- and early eighteenth-century British art theory. Her PhD thesis, entitled ‘ The Making of a National Art History: British writers on art and the narratives of nation 1660-1735’, seeks to critically assess the little studied literature published on the visual arts during this period, with particular emphasis on questions of authorship and identity in relation to the broader cultural sphere. Caroline’s project is fully funded by the AHRC as part of the collaborative research project with Tate Britain entitled ‘Court, Country, City: British Art 1660-1735.’
