History of Art @ York - Celebration and Information Event

Posted on 15 November 2016

Join us as we celebrate a wonderfully successful year, and learn more about our degree programmes!

We have a lot to celebrate this year, including four exciting current or up-coming exhibitions!  Jo Applin's co-curated exhibition Flesh: Skin and Surface is currently on at York Art Gallery, and Liz Prettejohn's co-curated exhibition Alma Tadema: Classical Charm has opened in the artist's homeland at the Fries Museum in the Netherlands. Liz's exhibition will move on to Vienna in February before coming to Leighton House in London in July next year.  Liz Prettejohn has another highly anticipated co-curated exhibition, Flaming June: the Making of an Icon opening at Leighton House on November 4th, and we also have 'Turner and the Whale', co-curated by Jason Edwards and PhD student Martha Cattell at Hull Maritime Museum to look forward to in 2017, when Hull will be the UK's 'City of Culture'!

If you are considering studying with us in 2017, at either undergraduate or postgraduate level, join us for our celebration and learn more about the Department. We'd love to meet you!

The event starts at 4pm on 25 November at King's Manor.
