History of Art @ York

On Friday 27 November the History of Art Department will be celebrating a brilliantly successful 2015. If you are considering applying for undergraduate or postgraduate study in 2016, we invite you to join us!

From 4pm, start your weekend with our information event at The King’s Manor in the heart of our historic city. Find out about our flexible, world-leading research-led programmes and how they will prepare you for a multitude of careers. Admissions staff, current students and representatives from various societies and services will be on-hand to answer your questions, so come and find out why we believe that York is the place to be!

Dr Janina Ramizez

Later, join us at The Yorkshire Museum for an informal drinks reception followed by a guest lecture from our Honorary Fellow, Dr Janina Ramirez. Janina will speak on The Private Lives of Northern Saints, offering an alternative view of well-known names like Wilfrid, Bede and Cuthbert. Behind the authorised saints’ lives and cult veneration lie real historical figures and, as Janina will reveal, their stories are no less fascinating than the legends!

Registration for the event has now closed. If you are hoping to attend but haven't yet registered please get in touch as there may be last-minute availability.

While you are in York, take the time to get to know the city. A diverse range of shops, galleries, clubs, cafés, museums, music groups and sports clubs means that there really is something for everyone!
