At York we have been steadily building up a research team in complementary and alternative medicine. Research is much needed in this area to establish the reasons for the growth in its popularity, whether these therapies are effective for specific conditions and the extent that patients are at risk.
The research group at York is working on a range of projects to help answer these questions.
