For practitioners with a special interest in Midwifery and Infant Health, we offer the following pathways, modules and study days.
Would you like to develop your knowledge and skills in relation to midwifery practice, management and care? If so, we offer a range of study days and workshops, for example, Obesity in Pregnancy, Genital Sepsis and Complementary Therapies.
Additionally midwifery courses can be undertaken on a free standing basis, or you can work towards the flexible modular degree programme leading to the award of BA (Hons) in Health & Social Care (Applied Midwifery Practice). The modular programme offers midwives the opportunity to gain academic credit by studying contemporary issues in midwifery practice. The opportunity to study generic modules within a multidisciplinary group is also available.
Examples of our infant health provision include ‘Children and Young Persons Diabetes Care’ and ‘Recognising the Sick Child and Young Person.’ We also offer an online, infant-feeding education programme, details of which can be found on our website: www.york.ac.uk/healthsciences/cpd/specialist-areas/infant-feeding/
