Background

Several reports and investigations over the last 5 years have highlighted major problems in services and support for people with learning disabilities across the whole health and social care sector. These problems range from difficulties accessing services through to problems with the treatment received within these services. Our courses are aimed not only at people working in specialist learning disability service provision but at any practitioner who encounters people with a learning disability using their service including staff working in GP surgeries, outpatients departments, hospital wards and community settings.

Our module provision includes : Communication Needs of People with a Learning Disability, Working with Vulnerable People, Understanding and supporting people with Autism, Health Needs of People with a learning disability; and Understanding Challenging Behaviour.
