Funding for Continuing Professional Development

Yorkshire and the Humber Strategic Health Authority (SHA) funded places are only available on certain modules and programmes.

It is important therefore that you contact us to confirm funding arrangements when considering your application.

Where we indicate that funding is available then the following rules apply:

Modules and degree pathways

Where funding is available places are offered at no charge to NHS Trust and primary care staff in areas covered by the Yorkshire and the Humber Strategic Health Authority. Places are available by agreement with the SHA to South Tees and Tees Esk & Wear Valley staff; please contact us for details.

This also applies to nursing staff working in the ambulance service, prison service and hospices.

You must get approval from the appropriate manager to access SHA funded places.

Places may be available to social services staff working in a health care environment or to staff in independent sector homes providing placements for pre-registration students. This is agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Costs for non-SHA funded applicants

Contact Sasha Singh, on 01904 321312 for details of prices for post-registration undergraduate modules and pathways to non-SHA funded applicants. Where applicants are not SHA funded, they will be charged at the appropriate UK/EU rate or international rate. Fees quoted will be for the year study begins and subject to increase in subsequent years.  The University reserves the right to alter the level of fee.

International students

International applicants from outside the EU are not eligible to apply for our CPD modules and degree pathways.  Our current CPD programmes do not comply with UK Border Agency (UKBA) requirements for a student (Tier 4) visa as they are classified as part-time programmes.  For further information visit http://www.york.ac.uk/study/international/visas-immigration/.
