Biography
Nicholas joined Environment in autumn 2008 from the Department of Politics, University of York, where he was a Research Assistant on a project investigating the environmental credentials of the European Parliament. Nicholas trained as an ecologist, completing his PhD at the University of Sheffield, where he investigated the consequences of extinction in experimental food webs. Whilst completing his PhD, funding from the British Ecological Society allowed Nicholas to work for the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, where he wrote a briefing paper for the UK Parliament on the fate of farmland wildlife.
