Departmental roles

Anthony is a research technician on the Defra funded project 'Restoration of blanket bog vegetation for biodiversity, carbon sequestration and water regulation'. 

Anthony has a BSc in Applied Biology from the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Wetland Science and Conservation from Bangor University, where his research project focused on the effect of restoration actions on the lowland fen Cors Erddreiniog, Anglesey. This research was undertaken with the Centre of Ecology and Hydrology, where he also provided technical support for the Defra funded 'Lowland Peat Project'.

Key duties

  • Carrying out field work at sites in the Yorkshire Dales including water sampling and greenhouse gas flux measurement
  • Overseeing laboratory analysis of peat and water samples 
  • Data input, writing standard operating procedures and risk assessing work associated with the project 
  • Supporting project students (undergraduate and postgraduate) in their laboratory and fieldwork
