Departmental roles

Anda is a research technician on the Defra funded project 'Restoration of blanket bog vegetation for biodiversity, carbon sequestration and water regulation'. 

Anda has a BSc in Environmental Science and MSc in Biology from the University of Latvia as well as a MSc in Environmental Economics and Environmental Management from the University of York. She has worked with international environmental policy and management issues, engineered nanomaterial safety assessment and also has a considerable NGO experience.

Key duties

  • Carrying out field work at sites in the Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland including water sampling and greenhouse gas flux measurement
  • Carrying out fieldwork on the Leeds farm project
  • Overseeing laboratory analysis of peat and water samples 
  • Data input, writing standard operating procedures and risk assessing work associated with the project 
  • Supporting project students (undergraduate and postgraduate) in their laboratory and fieldwork
