3rd Year Environment students produce an amazing array of magazine articles and short YouTube videos on diverse topics.

Third year students on the Environment Department’s Biodiversity and Society Module showed off their creative talents last term.

Challenged with making scientific research exciting and accessible, students relished the opportunity to learn new skills in film making and science communication.

They produced an amazing array of magazine articles and short YouTube videos on topics as diverse as ‘cryptic speciation’ and  ‘the effects of climate change on the wine industry’.

Talking about creating his YouTube video one student said 'it was one of, if not the most enjoyable pieces of work I have done here at York! I really felt like I knew a lot more about a topic by the end and could talk to people about it'.
