About the CETLE

The Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning Enterprise (CETLE) at York was established as part of a grant from HEFCE 2005-2010. The CETLE is now embedded in the University of York's provision to enable its students to achieve enterprising goals as part of, and alongside, their studies.

The CETLE enables staff and students to develop enterprise skills so that they are equipped to make an impact in the future as social entrepreneurs, enterprising employees and successful business owners. The CETLE includes an Enterprise Zone with facilities that form an institutional focal point for students, researchers and staff interested in the subject. Part of CETLE's role is to expand the provision of embedded enterprise teaching across the whole curriculum, incorporating the social sciences, arts and humanities alongside science and technology.
