Research

Research Title

The role of explicit knowledge in foreign language learning at primary school: Is it useful for foreign language learning, and can it be trained?

My PhD will investigate the effectiveness of explicit grammar instruction for primary school level foreign language learners and will explore whether children, learning within the Primary school classroom, are able to make use of the resulting explicit knowledge in their language learning and language use.

As part of my undergraduate degree I spent a year working as an English Language Assistant in two schools in Salzburg, Austria. I worked both in teams with other teachers and independently, responsible for all planning and implementation of lessons I taught.
