So you think you have a virus: There are two ways that it will become apparent that you have contracted a virus:
1. If your Sophos Anti-virus is up to date it will scan all files coming into your pc and will warn you when something suspicious is downloaded. IT will ask you to disinfect or delete the file. Please do so immeadiately. It is also worth running a scan of your hard drive after this. Double click on the sophos sweep icon. Check with the options settings that infected files are to be deleted. (This should be the default).
Now make sure that the hard disks are selected to be scanned and press the Go button. Your hard disk will then be scanned.
2. If you do get a virus chances are it will be because you have not kept your Sophos Anti-Virus up to date. The first thing to do is update it to the latest version by following the above instructions. Once restarted your pc may identify the virus. Even if it does it is still important to perform the scan as described above.
If your pc still misbehaves then it is time to contact biolhelp and we will see if we can rescue your machine. The key important message though is to make sure that you keep your anti virus software up to date.
