How to find the University

By car

Take the York ring road to the junction with the A19 or A1079/A166. The University is signposted from these junctions. There is no charge for parking in the evening and at weekends.

Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall & Rymer Auditorium: follow the signs for Wentworth College and biology at the roundabout at the top of University road. Take the first turn left to Car Park D and follow the footpath signs to Sir Jack Lyons Concert Hall for daytime opening or to Concerts & Evening Box Office when coming to evening concerts.

Central Hall: follow the signs for Campus Central car park off University road and from the car park follow the footpath signs to Central Hall.

Parking:  there is no charge for concert audiences after 6.00pm or at the weekend; at other times, please use pay and display facilities at Campus Central or Campus North car parks.  If you come to the Box Office in the afternoon, you may use one of the limited number of free, short-stay spaces in the car park in front of the Information Centre in Market Square.

By bus

First York service no. 4 leaves the railway station every ten minutes during the day and every 30 minutes in the evening, taking approximately 20 minutes to get to the University. The route goes via Clifford Street and Heslington road and there are bus stops (marked B) on University road for both halls.

On foot

The campus is about 20 minutes' walk from the centre of town.
