Before you upload your audio or video, make sure that you’ve had a look at our tips for video production, advice on audio recordings of events, and are aware of copyright and other legal issues.
Media players like this can be embedded within any website.
Your audio or video file will need to be in a format that is suitable for online playback. For streaming, this can be: Flash video, H.264/HE-AAC encoded content stored in an MPEG-4 file, or MP3 audio. We're currently working on a full guide to media formats.
There are two options available to you for publishing your media on the University web server and the right one for you depends on what you are publishing. Contact the Web Office if you are unsure which best suits your needs.
The streaming service works like the BBC iPlayer – it chooses the quality of playback based on how fast a viewer’s internet connection is, so the video can start to play almost instantly. Viewers can also instantly fast-forward to points in the video without having to download the whole file, which could take hours otherwise.
Upload your video to a streaming dropbox. See using the streaming service for help and signup.
