The Web CMS

A Web Content Management System (CMS) is a tool used to manage and publish content on a website. The author uses a web browser to access the system and add their content using pre-defined templates.

No technical knowledge of the web is required. This means more people can become involved in the website, allowing people to author pages about their specialist subject. It also means that updating and creating web pages is quicker and easier.

The system chosen at the University of York is Site Manager by TerminalFour. TerminalFour has many other clients in the UK Higher Education sector, including Manchester, St. Andrews and Oxford.
