Winning this accolade is an exciting opportunity to raise the profile and enhance the reputation of our University. Using the THE logo and promoting our achievement in as many ways as possible over the coming 12 months will have a positive impact on how the University is viewed.

This toolkit is designed to help all staff and students at the University to make the most of publicising this prestigious award.

Using the THE Award logo 

You can download the Times Higher Education Award logo in three different sizes:

Please use this logo on any promotional material or stationery you produce over the next 12 months. We recommend that the logo is in circulation until the end of 2012.

Using the logo on websites

For departments that use the Web CMS, the THE logo will be incorporated into your web pages automatically. The logo will appear on the left hand side of the page above the navigation bar.

Adding the THE award strap line to your email signature

Placing the award strap line in our email signature is just one of the ways we can use to promote our University of the Year status.

Please take the time to add the THE award strap line to your signature. In doing so every email you send will help us continue to build a positive reputation. We will remind you when the strap line needs to be removed at the end of the year.

The strap line we would like you to add to your email signature is:

Instructions for adding the strap line in Outlook 2007 plain text

In summary for Outlook 2007 to create a plain text email signature you need to: 

1. Within Outlook, click on the Tools menu and choose Options
2. Select the Mail Format tab and make sure Plain Text is selected under Compose in this message format
3. Click the Signatures button
4. Under the Email Signatures tab, click New, enter a name for your signature, then click OK 
5. In the Edit signature box enter the details as you would like them to appear  
6. Under Choose default signature, select York IMAP Server as the email account, and select your signature name from the drop-down list under New messages and Replies/forwards as appropriate
7. Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog box.
8. Click OK again.

 Instructions for adding the strap line in webmail

In summary for Webmail to create an email signature you need to:

1. Log in to Webmail
2. Select Options, then Preferences
3. Click Compose, then in the Signature box enter the details as you would like them to appear
4. Click Change for this and future sessions to save the changes
