The University does not currently have a central facility for video production, other than recording lectures (see below). The University does, however, offer some support for the publishing/delivery of developed video content and can offer advice on commissioning a video.
Before commissioning a video for an external audience, please contact the Communications Office. We can give you advice on quality, visual identity, and help with audience profiling. Advice on producing video content is also available on these pages.
A pilot project is running using a lecture recording system which can record both audio and video, or audio with sequenced stills (enhanced podcast). Recorded content can be made available via the University's centrally supported Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) or other means if required. If you would like to take part in the trial, please contact itsupport@york.ac.uk.
Please remember to advise your students that these recordings are copyright and can only be downloaded for personal, not shared, use.
See publishing audio and video online for help with adding video to your website.
If you would like to use your video to support a module you are teaching on the VLE, then please contact Wayne Britcliffe in the E-Learning Development Team.
