Single economy standard study bedroom facilities

Each study bedroom contains:

• a 3ft x 6ft 3inch bed with mattress
• a washbasin
• a desk & chair and desk lamp
• a wardrobe, shelves, a pin board on the wall & a waste bin

Bathrooms

The house has bathrooms, toilets and shower rooms for all residents to share. In total there are 2 shower rooms with toilets, 1 bathroom with toilet (no shower) and 2 separate toilets.  These facilities are shared between 15 residents.

Fulford Road has 1 kitchen, shared by all 15 residents. The kitchen contains:

• adequate fridge/freezer provision
• 2 electric cookers
• 2 kettles & 2 microwaves
• storage cupboards & shelves
• a breakfast bar & stools
• a sink, washing machine and dryer in adjoining scullery

Sitting Room

The house has a sitting room for all residents to share containing sofas and armchairs and a small dining table & 4 chairs.

• Limited cycle storage
• Shared telephone access for the house
• Internet access via University Wi Fi

Cleaning

Cleaning & Recycling

You are resonsible for cleaning your own bedroom, but your shared bathrooms and kitchens are cleaned by cleaning services.

Bathroom Cleaning

The shared bathrooms, toilets and showers are checked daily and cleaned as appropriate according to the service level agreement.

Kitchen Cleaning

The day of the weekly kitchen clean will be publicised on your kitchen noticeboard. Please check the service level agreement below to see what you should be doing and what is the responsiblity of your cleaners.

If you do not maintain the kitchen to a reasonable standard, the cleaners may not be able to clean the kitchen and you and your housemates will be fined.  We recomend you & your housemates all sign up to a rota to make sure all the daily tasks are done.  Your tutors will help you with this and provide you with rotas for your noticeboards.

• Cleaning Service Level Agreement

Rubbish and recycling

Colour coded recycling containers for paper, cardboard, glass, plastic and cans are provided, and you will be given details of the location of your recycling and rubbish points on moving in.
