For a bustling social life, Vanbrugh College, one of the University's original colleges, is located at the centre of Heslington West Campus. Vanbrugh is a lively college with a great music scene, including our own Music Tutor, 'Vanbrugh Voices' - our staff-student choir, the Vanbrugh Band Ensemble, regular music workshops, 'The Garage' - our fully equipped garage-band rehearsal space, and regular open-mic nights in V-Bar, which is open every night. We also host 'Volume', our popular JCR run club nights, as well as a variety of smaller events for those who are looking for more low key entertainments.
Undergraduates: Our undergraduates perform excellently in sporting events and Vanbrugh hosts some of the most popular yearly social events on campus, including the International Fiesta, in conjunction with the International Students Association, and Woodstock. Check out the Vanbrugh JCR Committee website and the College's webpage for the JCR.
Postgraduates: Our postgraduates, although non-resident, enjoy duel membership of both Vanbrugh and Wentworth Colleges. Facilities for Graduates can be found on the Vanbrugh GCR webpage.
Staff: Our staff events are popular and well attended and information can be found on our SCR website.
The College holds many events throughout the year, from colloquia to college lectures, from film nights to board-game evenings, open-mic nights to termly music concerts and music workshops, tours, visits and walks, picnics and barbecues, receptions and evening suppers, in addition to the events organised by the JCR, GCR and SCR Committees.
Whatever your interests, we would love to see you at one of our events.
