Langwith College is half a mile from Heslington Hall, along the shared walking/cycle route to Field Lane.
Cycling is really popular in York and particularly so with students. Unfortunately, bikes are easy prey for thieves so it is important to keep your bike locked at all times. Langwith has plenty of secure cycle storage.
Heslington East is well served by public transport. There are buses from the city centre approximately every 10 minutes during the day, and it takes around 20 minutes to reach the campus.
The 44 bus service stops at the railway station, in the city centre and both Heslington West and Heslington East campuses.
The ub.1 is a dedicated free shuttle bus service for travel around the Heslington campus. The 44 also provides free travel around the Heslington campus.
You can reach York by coach from many destinations around the country. National Express coaches stop at the railway station.
Further information on the bus services can be found here.
Follow the outer ring road (A64 on the south and east sides of the city, A1237 around the north and west) to the junction with the Hull/Bridlington roads (A1079/A166). Turn off at the exit marked 'University' and follow the signs towards the city centre, past Grimston Bar. Take the left turn at the roundabout marked 'University' and at the next roundabout take the first left turn onto Heslington East.
The nearest Park and Ride to the University is Grimston Bar (off the A1079) a few minutes walk from the College.
Each College Court has its own postcode, which will help guide you to the correct location, but if all else fails, the postcode YO10 5GE will get you to the Ron Cooke Hub, which is next to Langwith College.
