James College is a supportive College where everyone is encouraged to get involved and to help make the College a great place to live and work. We take pride in our give-it a-go ethos, offer diverse activities to suit all interests, and aim to create a supportive and fun atmosphere.
James College has some of the best facilities on campus, and is well placed near the Sports and Health Centres, YUSU building and lots of other key areas. It also has the most common rooms and boasts a huge dining room, coffee shop and bar.
James offers a diverse programme of activites, some of which are unique to the College. We aim to cater for all tastes, from photography to partying, cuisine to cricket - the College aims to promote cultural exchange in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
James is a great place for sporting students, as well as being close to the Sports Centre, astro pitch and playing fields, there are a number of vibrant college sports teams which represent James in the inter-collegiate league
We think it's important that prospective students can hear what it's like to live in the College from students who already have, so we asked them
With a diverse mix of home and international students from both in and outside of the EU the College provides a great opportunity to live and study in an international environment. In 2012, James was awarded a Vice Chancellor's Award for outstanding achievement for our innovative approach to internationalisation. James feels like an international college and wants to help students integrate and celebrate their diverse backgrounds and cultures. The College provides opportunities for smaller cultural and social events and has established a College-to-College exchange programme with the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK).
