Welfare

At Halifax College the welfare team includes the Provost, Dean and College Administrator, as well as six College Tutors, who are graduate students who live on site and take the main responsibility for one or two courts and the students that live in them. Welfare services range from providing emergency help if necessary to offering ongoing support to giving low-level encouragement.

The Dean, Sally Brabyn, is a member of University staff who lives on site. She can be contacted about student welfare issues out of hours. Her contact details are:

The College Administrator, Cath Dickinson, works in the on-site office and deals with accommodation, student welfare, social events, general enquiries, etc.  Office hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays: 9.15am to 5.15pm, Wednesdays and Fridays: 9.15am to 2.45pm. 

The University Security Centre has 24 hour staffing; they move around the campus, patrolling and providing a safe environment. Health and Safety staff members oversee such issues as fire safety.
