College events
College tutors organise and run college social events for their particular court(s).
Recent events include:
- BBQs
- games tournaments (any sports at all levels!)
- karaoke events
- open mic nights
- an open air choral recital
- Peter's Paradiso open air cinema
- coffee mornings
- a female-only event
- JJ's film nights
- pizza nights
As the tutors live in the college they are able to organise social events for students who remain in college during the vacations.
Each summer term the College hosts the Annual Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony. Tickets to this event are much sought after. Following a formal meal and the awards ceremony, students often carry on their celebrations at a venue in the city centre.
Other College events during the year include a House Representatives social event, a picnic for our residents living in family accommodation, a Christmas social and a summer term tabletop sale with cream teas in JJ’s common room.
Booking JJs
Many HCSA and College events take place in JJ’s and residents are able to book the venue in advance for their own events. Please note, you must submit a completed event management form at least three weeks before the date of the event.
