Provost's welcome

null

On behalf of us all at Goodricke – staff and students – I would like to welcome you to our college!

Importantly, we are all at the University first and foremost as scholars, but a big part of what we do is realised through how we experience university life; who we meet, and how we engage with them can impact on our scholarly activity. Friendships that we forge will often (we hope!) last a lifetime, and much of this activity centres on the College. Your time here gives you the chance to engage in new and exciting activities, many of which have been specially arranged for you by your peers in the JCR and GCR, which we hope you will take a full part in.

This JCRC site and the College web pages more generally provide all the information you’ll ever need to get the best out of College life. You’ll find information on events happening throughout term and updates about what’s going on around the College. If you need help, no matter how trivial it may seem to you, please ask. Our aims at Goodricke are to support your studies and to help you get maximum enjoyment out of your time at York!

Everyone from Goodricke College joins me in wishing you all the best for a rewarding time here. Enjoy yourself, have fun, and work hard and play hard – that way you can fully benefit from life at the College and at the University of York!
