Derwent students organise the biggest and best events on campus - Club D, Little D, Big D and numerous smaller events. See the JCR Events Archive for a sample of past events.
Regular events
Weekly Bar quizzes, karaoke, film nights, comedy nights and special one-off nights - the JCR organise it all. See the Derwent Bar group for some of the regular and special events.
Club D
Club D is Derwent's regular themed parties. A sense of humour and willingness to dress up help! See the Club D Appreciation Society.
Two or three Club Ds are held each term as well as trips elsewhere - Derwent does ...Downtown ...Newcastle.
Little D
Little D is Derwent's summer fair for students (and children) with bouncy castles, fair ground stalls, dancing, cakes and teas.
Big D
At the end of the summer term each year, Derwent students transform Derwent, Langwith and the lawns between them into a magical event for 1500 students with live music and carnival rides. Big D is the largest student-organised event on campus.
