College sport

College sport is primarily about participation and fun. There are certainly plenty of opportunities to participate. In 2009-10 Derwent fielded 17 teams in 13 different sports in college competitions. So there is something for everyone and the opportunity to meet and get to know students from other years.

Derwent's levels of enthusiasm and participation make up for it being the second smallest college. Derwent won the College Sports Day competition. The men's football 1sts came second in the College Cup while the 2nds won the Shield competition. The Women's Netball team was dominant in college competitions.

Inter-block competition

The JCRC Sports Reps also organise inter-block sports contests between A, B, C, D, E&F and Eden's Court teams.

Derwent Old Boys/Girls Weekend

Derwent Alumni organise a weekend reunion each May with sports matches against current students. These usually include football, netball, darts, pool and cricket challenges.
