H Block was built about 30 years ago, and is located across the University Road in the 'Derwith Extension.' It has 45 study bedrooms and is divided into 3 houses, each with its own entrance. All study bedrooms have washbasins and internet connection. Each house has a kitchen on the ground floor. There is a laundrette next to H Block and two cycle sheds nearby which can be accessed with a keycard.

House 1

House 1 contains 15 standard study bedrooms (3 on the ground, 6 on the first and 6 on the second floor), which are reserved for continuing undergraduates. The 15 residents share 1 bath, 2 showers and 3 WCs; there are postgraduate students living in houses nearby, so residents are asked to keep noise levels to a minimum. The kitchen contains:

  • 2 ovens and hobs
  • 1 microwave
  • 1 toaster
  • 2 fridge/freezers
  • 2 kettles

House 2

House 2 contains 15 standard study bedrooms (3 on the ground, 6 on the first and 6 on the second floor), which are reserved for 1st year undergraduates. The 15 residents share 1 bath, 2 showers and 3 WCs; there are postgraduate students living in houses nearby, so residents are asked to keep noise levels to a minimum. The kitchen contains:

  • 1 toaster
  • 3 fridge/freezers
  • 2 kettles
