Anyone who wants to can take part in a sport, whether they are at complete beginner level, a top class sportsperson who aspires to Olympic standard, or somewhere in between.
As a student of Alcuin College you can engage with sport at a number of different levels.
You can play some sports as part of the College team. Sport at the College level is for those who are not at the top of their sport but who enjoy playing and are keen to help Alcuin to win the inter-College sports cup. We have not won it for some years - come on, help us win it this year! Look at the JCR web page or contact one of the JCR sports reps at the start of term if you are interested.
If you wish to join a University-level sports club or engage with a sport which is not played at College level (rowing for example), look at York Sport. They can give you more information on the wide range of sports the University has to offer.
If you aren't interested in team sports but still want to keep fit, you can take part in activities such as dance, fitness training and aerobics classes at the Sports Centre, where there is a fitness suite and dance studio. A good way to find out what is on offer is to take a walk over to the Sports Centre, or look at the Sports Centre website.
