Alcuin College SCR events programme

Our Staff Common Room Committee strives to provide a programme of events of as broad an appeal as possible.  The events where a date has been agreed are shown in the list on the left of this screen.  Please explore and sign up for any you are interested in.

If you do not see an event that interests you please contact one of the SCR Committee with suggestions for events and we will do our best to organise one.

We have a programme that includes events not on the list shown, please contact Louise Penny or Tony Ward for a full list of the events that are in the process of being finalised.

I hope you will join us - all our events are very sociable and family and friends friendly - on most we welcome children and all are free or at cost.

  • The Alcuin Anniversary lecture
  • Behind the scenes look at the Castle Museum
  • Whiskey tasting
Regular annual events:

  • New Year's Walk around the City Walls - Second Sunday in January
  • June Summer walk along Caukleys Bank
  • We hold regular Charity Quiz nights
  • Tastings of some kind of alcoholic beverage or some other tasty concoction
