As the Provost, I’m keen to establish and maintain links with all our alumni, because I would like to think you’re interested in what’s happening in and around your College. The buildings of Alcuin College have changed greatly in recent years, but the community itself still reflects its past students.
The College is now a thriving community of 542 resident students. All our accommodation is en-suite to a very high standard, with much of it only a couple of years old. You may remember the old nucleus – well, sadly it no longer exists! It was completely flattened and we have rebuilt on the land.
The old dining room, the old JCR and the old bar are also sadly all gone. We have a new bar named after Brian Henry – who is still around – with a Porter’s Lodge and offices in a refurbished D-block. All the other College buildings, including the JCR, are new. Drop by and see us sometime to catch up on what’s happened, and I’ll be pleased to give you the royal tour!
I hope your memories of Alcuin College are good ones. Please do drop me an email – I would very much like to hear from you. And if you haven’t made contact with us before, please fill in the alumni contact form.
I hope you will enjoy what you see on these pages – but if you don’t, please don’t just ignore it! Let me know what you’d like to see here, and I’ll try and meet your needs.
Best wishes,
Tony Ward
