Getting to the conference

York is an ideal conference location, with excellent transport connections.

By Rail - Many delegates will choose to arrive in York by rail. York is served by local and long distance train operators, many of whom offer discounted advance purchase tickets. Train operators serving York include: National Express (Scotland, Newcastle and London), Cross Country (Scotland, Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham and the South West), Grand Central (London and Sunderland), Trans-Pennine Express (the North West), and Northern (regional services). Travel can be planned using the National Rail website. Bus route 4 (destination: University) and taxis connect York station with the conference venue.

By Road - Road access to York is easy from the A64 and A19. However, due to the limited number of parking spaces available at the conference venue, we advice delegates to use public transport wherever possible. More information on getting to York can be found here.

By Coach - Long distance scheduled coach operators serving York include National Express and Megabus.

By Air - The nearest airports are Leeds Bradford (LBA), Manchester (MAN), Humberside (HUY), and Robin Hood Doncaster-Sheffield (DSA).

By Ferry - International ferries from Amsterdam and Zeebrugge to Hull are operated by P&O Ferries. Onward connections from Hull to York are available by public transport.

Timetables and route planning for public and private transport can be obtained from the Transport Direct website.
