No. 1 Molecule of the Month

Molecule of the Month is a site hosted by Bristol University’s on which they add a new molecule every month. The two molecules discussed in the article were methamphetamine from March 2007 and hydrogen peroxide from September 2006.

The study of chiral chemistry is a relatively new science and as such creates a lot of exciting new research. The Nobel Prize for Chemistry 2001 was awarded for work done on asymmetric synthesis; that is developing synthetic pathways that produce one enantiomer and not the other. This site also has the chirality game.

Gibbs Free Energy (ΔG) is the way chemists measure relative stability and this site offers a nice tutorial on the topic.

This wikipedia article explains about oxidation and reduction
