Physical Chemistry Research Group
The main research themes of the Physical Chemistry Group are spectroscopy and dynamics of molecules, solid-state NMR, remote sensing and ab initio quantum chemistry.
Areas of interest
Specific interests of the group are:
- spectroscopy and dynamics of molecules in the gas phase (Professor Peter Bernath, Dr Martin Cockett, Dr Caroline Dessent)
- spectroscopy and dynamics of molecules in the solution phase (Dr John Moore)
- solid state NMR (Dr Angelika Sebald)
- ab-initio quantum chemistry (Dr Peter Karadakov)
The group is strongly interdisciplinary with collaborations with the atmospheric chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry groups as well as the wider areas of physics, industry, computer science, space science and astronomy.
