Stapled Diet: Peptidic Interrogation of the p53 Network

Thursday 22 October 2015, 2.00PM to 3.00pm

Speaker(s): Dr Chandra Verma, Head of Division, Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR, Singapore

Development of protein-protein interactions have been recalcitrant to small molecule modulation and yet lend themselves easily to interruption with antibodies. The search for an agent that shares the characteristics of cell permeability of small molecules and specificity of antibodies has lead to the development of novel peptides (cyclic/stapled peptides). A successful story of interrogating the p53 pathway will be discussed.
