You should not book portering or other requirements until you have received confirmation from the Timetabling and Room Bookings Office of the room/s in which your event is to be held.
Requesting Changes to Room Layouts
For non-teaching rooms only, email details of any particular layout requirement to the Reception Coordinators (select from hollow square, solid square, horseshoe or theatre style). The quoted capacity of a room may vary depending on your desired layout.
Layouts of teaching rooms cannot be altered.
Please allow plenty of notice when making requests to move furniture - a minimum of two weeks is preferred.
Out of Hours Portering
Visit the Portering Hours list to check the portering hours for buildings.
There is a charge for the provision of portering outside the normal opening hours of the building. There is no porter based in Central Hall so all requests for this building should be regarded as "out-of-hours".
To book portering out of hours, you should contact the Reception Coordinators with the following information:
- Your name and contact details
- The number of the room you have booked (from the booking confirmation)
- The date and times of your event
- The portering service you require
- The time/s at which your event will take place
- The number of people attending your event
There may also be a charge for additional portering and security at events where more than 100 people are taking part.

Most areas of the campus are only cleaned once each day. You may need to arrange for extra cleaning of an area if you are organising an event that takes place at the end of a teaching day. This should be done with the local Facilities Manager.
