New thinking yields business success
For the last two years the partnership with The York Management School has given us access to new thinking and enthusiasm about our business which has clearly produced positive results.

Oakdale is a North Yorkshire based SME that specializes in the manufacture and distribution of decorative paving, walling and hard landscaping products, which is sold to end users via a network of approved garden centres and merchants.
The goal of this project was to design and implement new and lean business processes, underpinned by Information Technology, to deliver business efficiency and support increased sales.

Results
- Development of new ‘green’ method of concrete manufacturing, which is now in the process of being patented (GB0416190.7)
- Expanding Oakdale’s supply chain to India, China and is expanding to Brazil.
- Increase in productivity resulted in savings of over £130K
- Two new full-time jobs created
- Using ICT as the main means of communication has saved Oakdale over £3,000 per annum
