The Department of Biology’s Bioscience Business Centre comprises a number of facilities to assist in our knowledge transfer and commercialisation activities, and to strengthen links with industry. The facilities were created through Science City York's Hub and Spokes project, funded as part of the Northern Way Initiative supported by Yorkshire Forward. Located next to the University of York's Technology Facility, the Bioscience Business Centre aims to drive new industrial collaborations and potential start-up activity with the Departments of Biology and Chemistry as well as with other areas of the University.
There is generally no charge for access to these facilities, providing their use is directly related to on-going or new collaborations with the University.
To find out more about accessing these facilities, please contact either Dr Joe Ross (Business Development Manager, Life Sciences) or Dr John Pillmoor (Technology Facility Director). For general information about opportunities for business collaborations with the University of York , please contact the Research Innovation Office.
University of York staff can book all of the facilities directly through the Department of Biology meeting room booking system (specific booking form). Please note that these rooms are primarily for meetings including external visitors or for video conferencing. For meetings that include internal attendees only, restrictions on advanced bookingg apply.
