Admissions
All our applications are dealt with through UCAS and the university's Student Recruitment and Admissions Office.
We encourage you to visit York on one of the university Open and Visit Days throughout the year, which will provide you with an opportunity to visit the department and talk to staff about the courses and your interests.
We also have an undergraduate admissions tutor who is happy to answer any questions you may have.
How to apply
- All applications must be made through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
- Prospective applicants should also read through the university's Undergraduate Prospectus. You can choose to view the prospectus online, download a PDF copy, or request a printed version.

You@York is your unique personalized gateway to all of the information you need as a York applicant. After you apply to us, you will receive information about how to log in to your You@York page. You can manage your application, view your offer, upload any necessary documents, apply for a Tier 4 CAS if you need it, and book visits to the University. The portal also gives you information about what it's like to be a student at York, and a range of information about the Department of Archaeology as well.
