Lime and the Buildings Stones of Yorkshire

The use of lime to conserve stone buildings is a historic technique that has been proven effective time and time again. The first three days of this course will cover the principles and methods behind conserving building stone with lime.  A series of lectures focused on underpinning knowledge will be reinforced by practical sessions, which allow delegates to experience and understand the materials and their characteristics.  The second two days of the course, which are also available independently, will deal with the pertinent issues of the characteristics and conservation of Yorkshire Stone and practical stone cleaning.
