The interiors of all kinds of buildings are often relatively neglected, and there is even occasionally (unjustified) doubt about whether or not they are protected by listing. This course aims to cover the methods and principles to be applied to the study and conservation of a variety of types and periods of historic interiors. The course will cover the main aspects of treatment of walls, floors, ceilings, furnishings, textiles, lighting and presentation, painted decoration, and glazing. It will also include an appropriate site visit and a practical session with Trompe l'oeil expert Paul Czainski in order to match theory with an understanding of the constraints and possibilities of practice.
Four-day course fee is £350. Please click here to book online
